PROGRAM JUSTIFICATION

Women are significantly underepresented in the global transport sector workforce comprising of less than 20%. This underrepresentation limits diverse perspectives in service design and decision-making. E-mobility holds transformative potential in addressing the gender disparities that have long prevailed in the traditional transport sector. The women in the e-mobility network seek to advocate for women’s representation in leadership roles, champion inclusive policies, and create a platform for networking, collaboration, and resource-sharing among women professionals to grow in the e -mobility sector.

GIZ’s Promotion of Electric Mobility in Kenya project supports the conceptualization of women in the e-mobility network. The project strengthens competencies and capacities for an enabling framework and market development for enhanced electric mobility uptake in Kenya.
