CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR AN ON-CALL PROJECT PHOTOGRAPHER & VIDEOGRAPHER

1. Background

Flone is a mission-driven organisation reimagining what public transport can be: safe, inclusive, and accessible for everyone. We train operators, shift mindsets, and advocate for systems that serve people first. We do this by uniting communities, policymakers, and stakeholders in a shared mission to build equitable public transport systems. Our vision is a just public mobility system.

2. Objective

Flone Initiative is looking to engage a qualified Videographer/Photographer who will be responsible for capturing, producing, and editing high-quality visual content (both video and photography) to support the organization’s communication, branding, and storytelling on a project focusing on gender and disability inclusion in the emobility sector. The role involves documenting events, projects, and impact stories, and transforming them into compelling visual assets for digital and print platforms.

3. Nature of Work

  • Taking photos of 36 women in transport professionals engaged in the project to be spotlighted on Flone’s social media platforms.
  • Workshop photography and videography during the physical training workshops of the women and other public transport operators at Flone’s training centres and at e-mobility companies' premises an average of 30 workshops.
  • Documenting success stories based on the training offered to the women and stakeholders.
  • Document impact and learnings from the emobility stakeholders engaged in the project, which will include the SACCOs, manufacturers, service providers, government agencies and development partners.
  • Document an endline project video highlighting achievements, challenges and opportunities.

4. Content Creation

  • Capture high-quality photos and videos for events, campaigns, field activities, and interviews in Nairobi.
  • Develop creative concepts and storyboards for visual storytelling.
  • Ensure all content aligns with the organization’s brand and communication strategy.

5. Video Production & Editing

  • Plan, shoot, and edit videos, including documentaries, interviews, promotional content, and social media clips, in collaboration with the Flone team.
  • Add graphics, sound, subtitles, and effects to enhance video quality.
  • Should be able to manage the full production cycle from pre-production to final delivery.

6. Photography

  • Take professional photographs for publications, social media, reports, and marketing materials.
  • Edit and retouch images to ensure high-quality outputs.

7. Content Management

  • Ensure proper storage, backup, and organisation of developed visual assets within Flones' digital platforms.
  • Organize and archive digital content for easy retrieval.
  • Maintain a visual library of photos and videos through Flone’s set digital platforms.

8. Collaboration

  • Work closely with communications and program teams to understand content needs.
  • Support project-based campaigns, events, and advocacy initiatives with visual documentation.

9. Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Film Production, Photography, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in videography and photography (portfolio required).
  • Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, or Lightroom.
  • Experience in storytelling, especially for development, NGO, or corporate settings, is an added advantage.

10. Deliverables

  • High-quality photos and edited videos.
  • Event/workshops coverage and documentation.
  • Short-form and long-form visual content.
  • Organized digital content archive.

11. Working Conditions

  • Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, within Nairobi.
  • Ability to work in field locations and varied environments in the public transport sector within Nairobi.

    • Daily rates for photography and videography for half-day and full-day workshops.
    • Rates for documenting impact stories with project targets (women in transport, emobility companies, government agencies) at their locations within Nairobi.
  • A portfolio of relevant work (photos, videos, documentaries etc).
