Report It Stop It

A crowd mapping platform where survivors & victims of sexual harassment and assault speak out and map out their ordeals in public spaces to seek redress and support

Program Objective

Overcoming Barriers to Mobility Rights for Women

Report it! Stop it! It is a crowd mapping platform where survivors & victims of sexual harassment and assault speak out and map out their ordeals in public spaces to seek redress and support. This platform is an adaptation of the Kenyan-born Ushahidi crowd-mapping software.

The platform was developed to provide data on the prevalence of harassment and violence in the Kenyan public transport spaces and connecting spaces.

Program Achievements

Over 300+ reports mapped in public spaces

So far, the platform has over 300+ reports that have been reported in public spaces, in particular spaces associated with public transport. Reports made on this platform allow city authorities, civil societies and local governments to gain deeper insights and improve situational awareness of the issue. The platform users can identify hotspots where harassment and violence are rampant and might therefore not be safe.
